Every Saturday Book Sale
Every Saturday, 12 - 4: Used Book Sale at the Dimmick Library Annex at 58 Broadway, Jim Thorpe. Good books! - and at great prices! Fiction, non-fiction and children's books - three rooms of books, all displayed in one of Jim Thorpe's beautiful Victorian houses. Most book prices are between $1 and $3 and paperbacks and childrens books are less. All proceeds benefit the Dimmick Memorial Library. For info call 325-2131.
Bach & Handel Chorale Spring Concert
3 PM in St. Mark’s Church, 21 Race St, Jim Thorpe under the direction of Randall D. Perry. This year’s Spring Concert will feature many great choruses sung by the Chorale. Whitewater Lehigh River Dam Release
Lehigh River whitewater releases originate at the US Army Corps of Engineers' Francis Walter Dam, about seven miles upstream from White Haven and the Lehigh Gorge State Park. Releases usually begin at 1 AM and conclude at 1 PM. This places water at the whitewater launch sites from about 7 AM until mid-afternoon.

Steam Train Excursion - Tunkhannock to Jim Thorpe
The 2010 Passenger season kicks off with a steam excursion behind No. 425 from Tunkhannock to Jim Thorpe on May 15, 2010. The race takes place at Beltzville State Park in Lehighton, PA. This year the race will take place on two days offering an entire weekend of triathlon and festival-style activities with both Sprint and Olympic Distances for 2010.
