On Saturday, October 13 and Sunday October 14, 2007, Jim Thorpe Area Council of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce will host the 30th Annual Fall Foliage Festival in Asa Packer Park in beautiful Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – rain or shine.
 
This is a FREE event for guests of all ages!
 
Additional Parking & Shuttles have been added for 2007!
 
The parking and shuttles will be located at the Mauch Chunk Lake Park Swimming area located at 625 Lentz Trail, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. Please

Trains are pulling into Jim Thorpe! Take a train ride through the beautiful Fall Foliage of the mountains! Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, Inc. will be running Fall Excursions both days of the event every hour on the hour starting at 11 a.m.! Plenty of great entertainment is lined up for this festive weekend. On Saturday, enjoy The Perseverance Jazz Band taking the stage from 1-3 followed by Becky and the Beasts (Rock & Roll) from 3-5 p.m.! Sunday's schedule includes Dave Rehrig and the Twitty Fever Band (Conway Twitty Tribute/Country) with Christy Jefferson (Blues/Folk) opening for Twitty Fever and also performing between sets. And how we can't forget Danny Farole, Italian folk singer who will be strolling around town both days romancing us with his charm! Also, Buster the Clown will be at the festival both days of the festival!
 
Dozens of vendors will fill Asa Packer Park to exhibit and sell their arts and crafts. Non-profits will be raising awareness within the community with groups ranging from dog rescues to local churches and many other non-profits. For the little ones, a "mini" hay maze will be set up next to the Jim Thorpe Train Station, hosted by one of our local farms. Parents can purchase pumpkins, gourds and corn husks to decorate their homes for the season.
 
Ghost Walks! This year, the Rotary Club of Jim Thorpe has expanded their Ghost Walks of the Historic District to include every Friday and Saturday evening beginning September 28 through November 5, 2006. Come out and support our local chapter of Rotary! Call (570) 325-2346 for Ghost Walk reservations.
 
Don't miss the many other wonderful activities being planed for the 30th Annual Fall Foliage Festival 2007! In addition to the special activities scheduled for the weekend, Asa Packer Mansion, Mauch Chunk Museum & Cultural Center, Old Mauch Chunk Model Train Display (decorated for fall and Halloween) and Saint Mark’s Church will be open to welcome guests. Shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants will also be open throughout the area. Overnight lodging at the area's B&Bs, camping resorts, hotels, inns and motels is also available.
