This National Historic Landmark was the home of philanthropist and railroad magnate Asa Packer, built in 1859-1861 at a cost of $14,000. This magnificent home was built over a cast iron frame and consists of 3 stories topped by a red-ribbed tin roof and a central cupola. It contains 18 rooms full of original 19th-century furnishings.
