WinterFest 2016
February 13 and 14
Presidents Day Weekend
Jim Thorpe, PA

Presented by the
Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency

Thanks everyone for a successful WinterFest 2016. Despite the cold (hey, it's winter in northeast PA!) and the frozen train generator causing a cancellation of trains on Sunday, 2/14, lots of folks came to town. We enjoyed having you all here!

The Famous Jim Thorpe Mug Walk
Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14
12PM to 5 PM

Buy a souvenir Jim Thorpe Mug at the train station for only $10 (benefits the Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency). It is white and tastefully lettered in maroon, and features the Jim Thorpe Victorian logo. Businesses all over town will fill it for you, free!

Lehigh Gorge Train Rides
Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14
New for the holiday are trains which will operate three times daily from the Jim Thorpe Visitors Center / Train Station into Lehigh Gorge State Park, February 13th and 14th at 11 AM, 1 PM and 3 PM. Operated by the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, more information and to reserve seats, go to

Free Kids' Show
Eddy Ray - PA's Busiest Magician
Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14

at the Opera House at 2 PM.

Eddy Ray’s magic shows are nothing like your stereotypical magicians “magic show”. There is no cheesy 70’s music, no top hats, no horrid costumes. Eddy’s approach to performing is refreshingly modern, hip, versatile, and cutting edge.

Ice and Wood Carving
Masters of the Chainsaw is a group of the nation's top professional chainsaw sculptors, dedicated to promoting and preserving the integrity of the art form and its performance.

The beautiful sculptures are then sold at the train station on Sunday, February 14 at 4 PM. Proceeds benefit the Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency.

Ice Carving demonstrations by Sculpted Ice Works to be held both days of event in Asa Packer Park and at Opera House Square.

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
Go back in time when carriages filled the streets of Old Mauch Chunk! Weather permitting. More info here.

Shopping, Dining & Attractions
Most local shops, restaurants and attractions offer special deals during WinterFest Weekend. Ask for a coupon flyer at the train station in downtown Jim Thorpe and participating establishments.

Friday and Saturday February 12 and 13
Tusk-The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute
Saturday's show sold out, Friday tickets going fast!

How to Get Here
Click here for maps and directions.

Where to Park
Best to use the Carbon County Municipal Lot behind the downtown train station. Parking is free after 5 PM!

If you are arriving in Jim Thorpe on 209S from Stroudsburg, bear right through the light and in approximately 50 yards on your right, you'll see the lot entrance. If you are coming from 903S, then cross the bridge and go left at the light. From Nesquehoning on 209N just proceed straight through the light. In about 150 yards you'll see the lot on your left.
