Art Exhibit - Faces of Jim Thorpe
Time & Location
About the Event
Early in 2019, twelve Jim Thorpe residents and one canine sat down to be interviewed, photographed and painted by Kathy Vaillancourt, portrait artist, and Mark Abbott, photographer. The result is this exhibit - a living history, incorporating pictures and personal narratives, of the residents of Jim Thorpe. The exhibit is part of a larger project, involving multiple participating communities across the country, aimed at building ties and strengthening the sense of community.
Vaillancourt is a New York City-based portrait artist who exhibits her work throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Abbott is a professional photographer who lives and works in Durham, North Carolina.
